Description:
The public are to be consulted on a document which outlines plans to improve a roundabout at a dangerous junction and provide better lesiure facilities in Holbeach. The design brief was drawn up as part of South Holland District Council's local development framework and involves an area of land between the A151 and A17.
It includes plans for up to 150 homes to be built before 2021 as well as 11 hectares of employment land and a large area of amenity and recreational open space.
South Holland councillors said they wanted to see improvements carried out at the roundabout before any other work is started.
South Holland District Council's deputy leader Nick Worth said: "I still favour a three-arm roundabout. That's going to be a major first gateway into Holbeach. If we have a four-arm roundabout that could look a bit messy.
"With a three-arm one there is the opportunity to have a smart office block that would look really nice when people come along from the Sleaford direction."
He also praised the addition of green elements to the site plans, including cycle and walkways.
Coun Roger Gambba-Jones said it is important to have a buffer zone between residential and commercial areas.
