Description:
A trip around the world awaits visitors to Springfields Outlet Shopping and Festival Gardens in Spalding this summer - but it's all being hosted at the shopping and leisure destination!
Springfields is hosting six free themed weekends from the end of July until the end of August, each one celebrating a different country. There will be different events and entertainment on every summer weekend plus especially themed food in the newly refurbished TGA pub, vehicles relating to each country and Lincolnshire Co-op Travel will be on hand to give travel advice and information too.
The programme started last weekend with an American theme and will be followed this weekend by Ooh La La (31 July-2 August) when a French flavour is brought to Springfields.
On the Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will be a mouthwatering traditional French market, while on the Saturday there will be a mime artist and Sunday visitors can shop to the sounds of an accordionist.
The next weekend (8-9 August) is the Italian Job, with pizza chef Stefano cooking up some treats on the Saturday and a Pavarotti lookalike wowing visitors on the Sunday. Plus on both days the Lincolnshire Mini Owners Club will be displaying their classic mini cars.
Next it's time to say "G'day Mate" and take a trip Down Under with the Go Walkabout in Australia weekend (15-16 August) with a baby crocodile, snakes, lizards and a wallaby or kangaroo on the Saturday, and a Rolf Harris lookalike on the Sunday.
The next weekend (22-23 August) it is back to Blighty with a Best of British theme. Visitors will be transported back to the 1940s and 1950s with folk dancers and a comedy "spitfire pilot" on Saturday, a Captain Mainwaring lookalike on Sunday, plus the Cinque Port Lindy Hoppers will be performing both days.
The final weekend (29-30 August) runs over the August bank holiday weekend and will see Springfields take on an Out of Africa theme with tribal stilt walkers on the Saturday, music workshop on the Sunday and a steel band duo on Saturday and Monday.
Springfields Communications Manager Tracy Turnell said: "At Springfields we love going the extra mile in the summer months and putting on additional entertainment to make a visit here even more of a great day out.
"Our activities this year celebrate different countries, and we are sure visitors will find there are lots of fun things to watch and do. Come along and join in the fun on our trip around the world, all without having to leave Springfields!
"We also have lots more to interest the whole family, from our beautiful Festival Gardens, fun activities for children and more than 55 stores with up to 75 per cent off all year around!"
