Description:
Residents in Pinchbeck will be encouraged to put their best foot forward as one of the town's footways is spruced up this summer.
Essential footway maintenance will take place on Knight Street, starting today (Monday, July 27), with the project due to be completed within seven weeks.
The works will not only ensure that the pavement remains in first-class condition and safe to use, but will also hopefully encourage residents to leave their cars behind and take the healthier option of walking.
Maxine Stukins, senior highways officer, said:"This project has been scheduled to take place during the school summer holidays, when there will be significantly fewer road users. This will help minimise any inconvenience to motorists during the works, as will the use of temporary traffic signals. Access to properties will be maintained, but on-street parking will unfortunately be affected as the works move along the road.
"However, the Adult Study Centre on Knight Street has kindly agreed to make their car park available at certain times to reduce any disruption this might cause. We have also consulted with the parish council and local businesses and have notified all properties in the affected area. The county council apologises in advance for any inconvenience caused by these important works and motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys."
