Spalding Police are investigating after would-be thieves attempted to steal a cash machine from a shop in Gedney Hill by ramming it with a lorry.Officers were sent to Hillgate in Gedney Hill just befire midnight on August 12 after residents reported seeing a flat-bed lorry ramming into the front of the shop.
At the scene police determined that the offenders had been trying to remove the hole in the wall cash machine, but had failed to do so.
The front of the cash machine had been destroyed.
Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or who saw a white and yellow flat-bed lorry, a light brown 4x4, or any other suspicious vehicles in the village around that time, to get in touch as soon as possible.
Anyone with any information can call Spalding Police quoting incident number 583 of August 12.
