Description:
An exciting new Winter Craft Fair with stalls and entertainment for all the family is to take place at Spalding's Ayscoughfee Hall in November.
The free event will feature a whole host of home grown crafts, talks and demonstrations with something for every member of the family to enjoy.
With a wide variety of stalls selling all kinds of locally made top quality crafts, there will be plenty of craft demonstrations, local history talks and the chance to stock up on some early Christmas presents.
Organised by local crafters, in partnership with Ayscoughfee Hall, the two day craft spectacular will take place at the historic building on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8.
Councillor Nick Worth, portfolio holder for rural strategy, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be showcasing the work of local crafts people at Ayscoughfee. There are so many talented craftsmen and women in the area and the Winter Craft Fair will give people the chance to see these wonderfully creative crafters at work and their creations. It's also a fantastic opportunity for the whole family to pick up some unique early Christmas presents and take in the beautiful surroundings of Ayscoughfee Hall and its gardens."
Stall holder Gillian Wing of Spalding-based Strawberry Glass which specialises in stained glass art, believes the event is a great way to promote the area and its crafters.
She said: "Ayscoughfee Hall is a wonderful place to visit. By bringing such a wide variety of crafts people to the venue, visitors will not only be able to take a tour of one of the area's most historic landmarks but they will be able to see and buy some truly inspiring craft work."
Fellow crafter Tamzin Thornton of Firechild will display a range of medicine jewellery made from natural materials including crystals, wood, bone, leather, horn and antler, plus traditional ceremonial tools, healing rattles, wands and medicine bags.
"I'm really looking forward to bringing some of my craft work to this great venue for the first time and to seeing so many talented local crafts people getting together under one roof. It's going to be a really entertaining and educational weekend for both visitors and crafters."
The Winter Craft Fair is free and open from 10.30am to 4pm each day. Light refreshments will be available throughout both days.
Look out for more details on the event in the coming weeks.
