Nominate Spalding's unsung heroes for awards

09 February 2009

Description:

People in Spalding and South Holland who make a real difference to the lives of others are being sought to take the title of Citizen of the Year.

Lincolnshire County Council has launched the Good Citizens Awards 2009 to find individuals or groups which deserve recognition for all their efforts helping others, such as caring for an elderly, disabled or disadvantaged person for no reward, raising funds for charity without being given a penny in return, or giving up their time to help the young people of their community.

There are three categories: Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year (aged 16 or under), and Community Group of the Year.

All nominations should be for a person or group who are living or based in Lincolnshire.

Winners and runners-up will be notified by post and invited to the Good Citizens Awards ceremony in the Council Chamber, County Offices in Lincoln on Wednesday,  May 6, 2009.

For further details and a nomination form visit www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/goodcitizensawards, ring 01522 782239, or email: goodcitizensaward@lincolnshire.gov.uk

The last date for receiving your nominations is Friday, 13 March 2009.
