Description:
Road repair works in Holbeach Drove have been redesigned and rescheduled to avoid having to close the road.Carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works are programmed to start in the Holbeach Drove area on March 2 and last for three weeks.
Sections of the B1166 affected by these works include from Lavendar Farm to Dog Drove, B1168 to Langary Gate and a short section south of Gedney Hill.
Tim Mawson, project leader, said: “Following discussion with local residents and concerns raised over the implications and diversion route of this closure, the scheme has been reviewed and the design amended so works can be carried out under temporary traffic lights and a convoy system.
"It does mean that these new measures will need to be in place for longer than originally planned under a full closure.
"We apologise to motorists for any inconvenience caused whilst these essential works are carried out and advise motorists to allow extra time for their journeys.”
All occupiers of premises affected will be contacted by the contractor before works begin.
