South Holland voters urged to have a say

The Lincolnshire County Council elections are set to take place in June this year and residents of Spalding and South Holland are being urged to ensure their voice is heard.

Lincolnshire County Council provides a wide range of services, including schools, highways and social care. It also manages organisations such as Trading Standards and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, and oversees numerous heritage sites.

On Thursday, June 4, residents willl be able to choose the 77 councillors that will take responsibility for these services for the next four years.

Cllr Martin Hill, leader of the council, said: "By taking part in local democracy, residents can help improve the quality of the services the county council provides.

"One of the most important ways in which you can contribute is by casting your vote in the elections.

"However, in order to take part, you must be registered on the electoral role.

"You have until Tuesday, May 19, to register. In the 2005 elections we had a fantastic turn out with over 314,000 residents voting. Hopefully this year even more people will cast their ballots."
