Description:
Every home across Spalding and South Holland is to receive a weekly recycling collection after the district council expanded its service.
This is a key move in line with the council's priority of 'taking care of villages and towns' and reflects its commitment to maintaining weekly collections.
As a result of the expansion South Holland District Council will be the only authority in Lincolnshire to offer both a weekly refuse service and recycling scheme to all its properties.
Portfolio holder for waste and economic development, Cllr Howard Johnson said: "This is a very happy milestone for recycling within South Holland as this excellent service is now available for all our residents to use.
"I would urge everyone to recycle as much of their household waste as they can, not just because it is the environmentally friendly thing to do but also because it helps to reduce the amount of materials that are sent to landfill.
"This helps Lincolnshire as a whole to avoid potentially very expensive landfill taxes.
"If residents need help or advice on those materials that they can recycle please contact the council by phone on 01775 761161, or log onto our website at www.sholland.gov.uk or visit our offices in Spalding."
